275th Anniversary meeting, 27th December 2012.

On 27th December 1737 the warrant for Lodge 77 was issued by the Grand Lodge of Ireland to William Ponder, James Hollyman and John Ard. Exactly 275 years later the Brethren of Lodge 77 gathered in Newry Masonic Hall to mark this historic anniversary.

The meeting was opened on the First or Entered Apprentice Degree of Freemasonry by the current Worship Master, W. Bro. Alan Berry. The Brethren had the pleasure of the company of Rt. W. Bro. Harold Henning, Provincial Assistant Grand Master of Down, who congratulated Lodge 77 on reaching their 275th year and brought best wishes from the Provincial Grand Master.

Distinguished guests also attended from Lodges 23, 79, 83, 144, 174, 488, 696 and 949 (Dundalk).
